Our Ethos
We believe helping people to feel connected to nature, can inspire them to care for our planet.
Our suppliers help support their local communities through sustainable insect farming and commercial breeding, while also working to protect the habitats in which these insects live.
The Challenge
Habitat destruction is the number one cause of species extinction and loss of biodiversity on our planet, impacting more species than all other threats combined.
85% of all Threatened and Endangered species attribute Habitat Loss as the dominant cause for their decline.
While some habitat destruction is driven by indirect factors like climate change and pollution, the overwhelming majority of terrestrial ecosystem destruction is due to conversion of wild areas for agriculture, urbanisation, deforestation, and resource extraction.

Today communities living in areas like the Amazon rainforest face an enormous challenge: how to balance economic growth with the preservation of these vulnerable habitats.
The fate of protected areas rests largely in the hands of local people - 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity is currently protected by Indigenous Peoples.

Without economic independence and security, communities have fewer options, relying on cash cropping for income or selling the rights to indigenous lands to extractive industries such as logging and mining.
